Bad Hair Day

Yesterday morning when I looked in the mirror I realized I was having a bad hair day - with my eye brows!

"What!" you exclaim?  I know.  I had a similar reaction.

It's not bad enough that I have the random hair growing out of my breast every so often (probably more than you cared to know, but it's true!) now I have to worry about having radically unruly brows?

On top of that when I went to put toothpaste on my brush I realized how little is left in the tube.  Years ago I would have tossed that tube into the garbage, and I did consider that yesterday, but now that I pay the bills (which reminds me - I need to do that today) I feel like every penny counts.  So, even though I brought up another tube from the stock pile, I used that one again last night and this morning and I'm sure I can get a few more brushings out of it...all for the sake of feeling like I'm saving money.  Or because the poor children in India don't have toothpaste so I should waste mine.

Did your parents ever use that one on you?  Mine never did involving toothpaste, that I remember, but when it came to cleaning our plates I remember hearing it a lot.  So, maybe I shouldn't be so hard on my kids.  Honestly, I don't think I am hard on them.  I don't even make them eat everything on their plates, even though I'm sure there are still starving children.  I do, however, get annoyed and frustrated at how much they "don't like."   But they're not fading away, so it's their loss and someday they'll have kids that frustrate them.

It's the circle of life.  Just like the fact that hair starts to grow from the ears of old men and fall out of their heads.  Even though it's not as widely talked about, I'm guessing that plucking random strands from formerly hairless spots is common place in women as we age too.

That makes me sound old, to say I'm aging, but I'm really a stunningly young 33!  Not stunning in the "oh, my goodness, isn't she stunning?!" kind of way but stunning in the "you're only 33?  I'm stunned." way.  And while we're on the topic of my looks - I'm not pregnant.  A lady in a store suggested as much a few weeks ago.  In fact is was the day after someone pointed out that I wasn't the old Ombudsman.  He knew this fact because, "She was skinny, right?"

No, I didn't slap him.  I just smiled and said, "Nope, I'm not her.  And yes.  She is skinny."  There were actually two skinny Ombudsmen last patrol.  For the record, I'm not either one.

And while we're putting things on the record, I tamed my brows yesterday and this morning woke up with lovely brows and crazy hair.  Now, that's the way it should be.
