Like all of you, I'm a number of things to a number of people...Navy wife, homeschooling mama, educated woman and aspiring writer. Read my thoughts on all of it here. Please feel free to leave your thoughts on all of it too!

Our Navy Life

Last Enlisted Suball - 2006
My husband, Scott, is a sailor.  He's a lot of other things too, but that's one of the biggest hats he wears.  He's been in the Navy since we graduated from high school, and I've been married to him for 10 of those 14 years.  The slogan to entice you to join the Navy back in 1996 was "Join the Navy, see the world."  We like to laugh about that.  He went to his initial schools and then spent the next nine years in Washington state.  We have moved since, though.

Scott's Commissioning - February 2007
Scott entered the service in the enlisted ranks as a Missile Technician (MT).  After working his way up and becoming a Chief Petty Officer he put in a package to apply for Limited Duty Officer (LDO).  He was accepted and commissioned almost four years ago.  LDOs are a special breed of sailor.  They're often referred to as mustangs because they're never completely tamed and carry a little pride in the fact that their not purebred, like most Naval officers.

After Scott became an officer we moved from Washington to Georgia.  Three years later we moved back.  We like Washington, so we're happy to be here again...for as long as the military says we're to stay!
